Deception – Subtle and Unknown

By Chette Nichols Jr

How do we know the heart of a man except by the word of God and he says  Jer 17:9 The heart [is] deceitful above all [things], and desperately wicked: who can know it?

If this verse be true, and it is, then the deception of a mans heart is so deep into his subconscious that he rarely without the help of God would ever know if he is deceived.

You can do a search of the internet and find literally a thousand site dedicated to exposing false teaching and heresy in and among the many denominations of the Body of Christ.  Yet each of these groups in and of themselves has some major flaw in their own doctrine and practice while pointing fingers at another.  I am reminded of Gal 5:14, 15 For all the law is fulfilled in one word, even in this; Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.  But if ye bite and devour one another, take heed that ye be not consumed one of another.  There is an obedience to Rom 16:17 Now I beseech you, brethren, mark them which cause divisions and offences contrary to the doctrine which ye have learned; and avoid them.   The whole point of the dividing of the body of Christ into divisions was in and of itself carnality according to Paul.  And today what has led to some of this dividing was either a lack of love on how one confronted another on their false teaching.  Keep in mind it was not a one sided affair the receiving party also was unable to receive and search the scriptures and see if these thing were so.  And because of the introduction of so many new versions of the Bible out there, it seems to leave each man to his conscious to decided what teachings and doctrines are false and which were not, and they had somehow left out one main ingredient in the whole mix, the Holy Ghost.  The Holy Ghost would have us all in unity not division.

In Your Own Eyes

We each live in our own frame of reference. What I mean by “frame of reference” is that our particular view in daily life is greatly influenced and formed by our personal experiences and circumstances. You cannot see through my eyes, and I cannot see through yours. That’s not a complaint, it’s simply a reality. I have borders and boundaries just like you. We should not trespass!

Let me make it very clear, I am not referring to the absolutes which are found in scripture. There are Biblical truths that apply to every single person who is reading this post. So please do not twist or distort my words to justify your particular life choices that are in direct opposition to God’s holy word. We each have the responsibility to read, study, obey, and apply the word of God.

What I’m specifically referring to is the God given differences we each have. Although things change throughout our life, like it or not our personal history has created some “borders” that are unique. In other words, my life is unique compared to your life. And our particular disposition in life is based on those specific realities. Some individuals have been blessed with great health. Others live with daily illness. Some individuals have financial stability. Others cannot meet there basic needs. Some have sharp and witty minds, others are dull and mentally challenged. Some have nice homes and nice vehicles, others do not. I could go on and on but I think you get the point. People are different. Some sail, others sink. Some laugh, others weep. Some are joyful, some grieve. Some are on the mountaintop, others are in the valley.

Oracles – A Word Study

by Chette Nichols Jr

The following is part of an email conversation that was partially posted on Paul Becker’s “A voice in the Wilderness” weekly Q&A series.  You can find this at his site under “VW: Q/A -persecution/music (091)”‏.  He is also the author of the VW edition of the Bible.  I had been seeking his knowledge on Bible verses on a certain subject that he accused me of being compromised because I did not rebuke a certain group for their use of modern musical instruments and styles for worship.

As I sought his guidance on what Bible verses to use I said,  “that when I spoke to others to correct them I wanted to speak as the Oracles of God, by using Bible verses to do the correcting for the Scriptures are good for correction”.  He gave a pretty long answer but for the most Part it was from his own understanding using some scripture to support his ideas of what musical worship should be but not one verse to use for correction on proper instruments or style of worship.  In the end he says musical instruments and style is a matter of conscience.  So why the quick judgement I was compromised because I had not rebuked the others if it is a matter of conscience?  Well a question that will have to wait for another time.

However, it was my use of the word Oracles that got him into a bit of a quandary.  He politely derided me for using it saying he didn’t understand why I would use such a word and that it was Unbiblical.  here is Paul Becker’s response for my using “oracles”

VW ANSWER:
“First of all, let’s make a little correction here. The word “oracle” is  not a Biblical term. And I’m not sure how/why you have used it. I know, the KJV uses it, along with some other translations. But it is occultic and demonic. It is a place/process whereby, through various means, a practitioner becomes “high”, in a hypnotic state or trance or what-have-you, to emit vocal noises to whatever the purpose of the demon is.  http://www.a-voice.org/qa/kjoracle.htm#oracle”

Heart of the Matter is “A Biblical inquiry into the nature of the heart”.

The Heart – Lesson One – The Introduction

Knowledge of the Lord God of the Bible is the most important thing that anyone, especially Christians, can learn. Knowledge of the Scriptures – God’s words (The Holy Bible) is essential in order for us to not only learn about God but know Him personally.  Knowledge of the human heart closely follows in order of importance.

Human nature is a reflection of mankind’s heart condition. The major pursuits of mankind: Self-preservation, self-propagation and self-gratification are all bound up in the heart. When it comes to understanding ourselves and others, knowledge of the heart is indispensable. Since the issues of life proceed from out of the heart (Proverbs 4:23) it is extremely important that we examine the Scriptures (God’s own words – from God’s Mouth) to see what God has to say about it.

Nebra Sky Disk – Joshua’s Longest Day

The Nebra Sky Disk and Joshua’s Longest Day – by Chette Nichols Jr

I love archeology, I love astronomy and I love my Bible, and I believe after careful examination of the evidence that there may be a more logical reason behind the making of the Nebra Sky Disk.   From systematic study of both astronomical evidence, archeological dating and a clear look at scriptures, we can not only locate the exact event that took place between 1500BC and 1400BC but in all likelihood that a Saxon Tribe had made a sacred record of one of the greatest Solar/Lunar events of all history, on what is now called the Nebra Sky Disk.

From our Biblical perspective we know that the Heavens speak to all people of all times in their own language.   Psalm 19:1-6  <<To the chief Musician, A Psalm of David.>> The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament sheweth his handywork.  Day unto day uttereth speech, and night unto night sheweth knowledge.  There is no speech nor language, where their voice is not heard.  Their line is gone out through all the earth, and their words to the end of the world. In them hath he set a tabernacle for the sun, Which is as a bridegroom coming out of his chamber, and rejoiceth as a strong man to run a race.  His going forth is from the end of the heaven, and his circuit unto the ends of it: and there is nothing hid from the heat thereof.  When we look into the heavens God’s word declares he is speaking to us in our own language, the language of your heart.

God said the creation of the Sun, Moon and Stars were for a purpose.  Genesis 1:14 And God said, Let there be lights in the firmament of the heaven to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs, and for seasons, and for days, and years:   Here God’s word tells us exactly why and for what purpose the Sun, Moon and Stars were created, for signs, seasons, days and years.  We find this evident in all ancient societies i.e. Chinese, Sumerian, Egyptian, Aztec and Inca, and many others all recorded the movements of the Sun, Moon and Stars to establish their timetables or days, seasons and years as well as looking to them for signs.

How God Via Inspiration Rightly Divided His Own Word

By Chette Nichols Jr

2Timothy 2:15 Study to show thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.

There are a couple of types of Divisions of God word we could teach.  There is Dispensational Divisions made famous by C. i. Scofield and Clarence Larkin early in the last Century.  This division has to deal with time periods or “Ages” as they termed them.  These are divided in ways on how God dealt differently with men at different times.  i.e. the age of Innocence (Adam the Garden), then the Age of Conscience, Age of Governments, Age of Law, Church Age, the Great Tribulation, the Millennial Kingdom.  Encompassing these ages is Eternity.

Some of those Dispensational divisions are still in effect today for example Conscience and Governments are still in effect with men.  The Law for the moment has been set aside per se, until God once again picks up His prophetic plan for Israel with the culmination of the Church Age.  We are currently in the Church Age also known as the Age of Grace.  Another way the word of God is divided is by how Salvation is had under Law and Grace.  According to Paul they are two opposing systems of belief, one evokes works to prove ones faith, the other is by faith alone.  So these are just examples of Divisions of the Word of truth.

Seven Study Tools for Studying the Bible

By Chette Nichols Jr

Apart from having the Holy Ghost who teaches us all things and like him we compare spiritual things with spiritual.

1Cor 2:13 Which things also we speak, not in the words which man’s wisdom teacheth, but which the Holy Ghost teacheth; comparing spiritual things with spiritual.

We also need our God given tool box, and in that tool box are the seven tools to study and rightly divide the word of Truth.

these tools are Who, What, When Where, Why, Which and How.

Are you studying the way God wants you to or are you just following what other men say?

Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.  2Ti 2:15
